Your fishing adventure begins from Anton Larsen Bay or the Port Lions Harbor on board the 28 foot F/V Little Tess, a quality built aluminum vessel designed and built for Alaskan waters.  She has a comfortable heated cabin with an enclosed marine head and all the modern marine electronics including GPS, Chartplotter, and radar...all to get you safely to and from the fishing grounds.

You will also be provided top quality fishing gear. We will clean and fillet your catch.  Rental of small vacuum packers will be available along with the purchase of bags. We will also have fish shipping boxes ready for purchase.

We recommend that you do bring a sack lunch, but we will provide snacks, pop and water.

Steps to arranging your affordable Port Lions fishing trip:

Our goal is to make an affordable vacation experience for family and friends.  You will have a first class fishing trip and a great stay inthe cozy Fox Den B&B that not only provides an outstanding breakfast but arrangements can be made for sack lunches and evening meals.  For less than half the price of a full service lodge, you get one of the most experienced skippers, with over 40 years on the water; a very comfortable boat with top notch fishing equipment, and; the added bonus of Port Lions extraordinary scenary and wildlife. 

For those wishing to stay in Port Lions:

• You will be able to get to Port Lions by boarding the ferry in Homer - for a roundtrip walk on it is $150.00 - or by chartering a flight from Kodiak. For those wishing not to charter a plane, Marvin can pick up at Anton Larson Bay for a flat fee of $150.00 round trip.
• The Fox Den B&B, run by Judy Clayton.  She can be reached at 907-454-2541. Judy will also be able to provide transportation from the Port Lions airstrip, the ferry dock and to and from the boat harbor, where you would be launching with Marvin for your fishing adventures.  Judy's rates are $65.00 a night and she will soon have a website up. She encourages you to call for any other questions you would have about a stay with her.
• This is a small village and there are no restaurants or stores available.  Please bring all personal effects, prescribed medications and anything else you feel would make your stay more comfortable.
• Before coming to Port Lions, please make sure you do have a valid fishing license with you!
• We recommend layered, warm clothing.  Remember this is Alaska and it is usually cooler on the water than on land.  You will also need rubber boots, rain gear, hat, gloves, sunglasses and sunscreen.
• Don't forget your camera and extra batteries!  You will want to capture every moment of your visit!

For those wishing to stay in Kodiak:

• Rental cars are readily available at the airport in Kodiak for your drive to and from the pick up site at Anton Larsen Bay .  There is also a cab service available from Kodiak to Anton Larson Bay.
• Kodiak has a lot to offer: shopping; restaurants; trails to hike; Fort Abercrombie; the Alutiiq and Baranov museums which exhibit early Alutiiq and Russian artifacts and history; or take a drive down the Chiniak Highway for whale viewing and sightseeeing.  Also, the Kodiak road system offers excellent fishing opportunities.
• Do not forget that fishing license which can easily be purchased online or at any sporting goods store!

2010 Rates:

My 2010 prices for fishing will be as follows:

$225.00/person when staying in Port Lions;

$250.00/person when picked up at Anton Larson Bay

the above pricing is for parties of 4 or more

Parties of 4 will have the boat

$285.00/person for parties under 4 people.

Our day would begin at 8:00 am and is a full 8 hour day from pick up time to drop off.  If you are staying in Kodiak, I will pick you up and drop you off in Anton Larson Bay.

All the fishing will be within 5-20 miles from the pick up site on the protected waters of the northwest side of Kodiak Island.

The above charter pricing does not include lodging or transportation to Kodiak or Port Lions.

Policies:

A 50% deposit is required at time of booking; balance due at time of charter.  At this time, we are only accepting checks, cash and money orders.

There are no refunds if charter is cancelled within 90 days of your scheduled charter.

Full refunds are given when charters are cancelled due to rough weather or mechanical break downs.
